Q: What are the differences between Samplitude ProX, ProX Suites, Samplitude & Samplitude Pro?

The differences between ProX and ProX Suites are:

Suites contains:

The Analog modeling suite of plugins (Am-munition and 4 others) (This suite is included IF you are upgrading from Pro 11 or Pro 10.

VANDAL guitar amp simulator.

A 70 gig library for the Independence Sampler vs the 10 gig found in ProX.

-Registered users of Samplitude 11 Pro will already have the license for Am suite and VANDAL, so the only difference is the 70gig library vs 10gig. Sam 10 pro users will have the AM-suite but not VANDAL, since it was introduced with version 11 pro.

The Big differences between Samplitude Pro and Standard are:

Am-muntion (mastering setup)

Room simulator convolution reverb

Full version of Elastic audio (pitch automation)

Professional uses a dongle (included along with DVD and manual) and standard uses a serial number and is available via download or box version.

Q: Why is there so many different names for Samplitude?

Samplitude "Version 12" will have a new name and come in 2 flavors: Samplitude ProX and Samplitude ProX Suites
(The PROX name comes from our Video proX and Xara lines)

Samplitude ProX = Samplitude Pro 12
Samplitude ProX Suites = ProX with additional addons: Suites contains The Analog modeling suite (Ammunition, Am-pluse and others) the full version of VANDAL
Guitar amp simulator plugin, and a 70 gig sample library for the Independence sampler (a 10 gig library is included into ProX)
Samplitude Professional – Available as box or download. Box version uses Codemeter dongle.

Samplitude Standard 11 (also called classic) – Available as box or download. Download is the trial version on Samplitude.com, serial number purchased unlocks program.

Sequoia – Boxed version, uses Codemeter dongle.

Samplitude Producer – Consumer line, download. Available thru magix.com, Available for dealers. This is part of the Music Studio line.

Samplitude SE – A free promotional version, 8 tracks and limited use

You can install the download version on 2 different computers.

Q: When do I need a Dongle?

Please also note:
If you upgrade from Samplitude 11 Pro to Samplitude Pro X you should register the serial number on the dongle in order to re-activate Analogue Modelling Suite and the full version of Vandal.

How to register the serial number on the dongle:
If you already registered Samplitude Pro X on your PC without using the dongle and you want to re-activate Analogue Modelling Suite and the full version of Vandal you have to transfer the serial number onto the dongle. This is quite easy: insert dongle > start Samplitude > click on "Activate dongle" in the Help menu > restart Samplitude > now Samplitude provides the option to register the serial number onto the dongle > choose that option > follow the steps > done.

An order needs a Codemeter dongle included in the box when:

Any new customer (crossgrades) or a users upgrading from Version 7 or earlier. Samplitude started using the Codemeter dongle at version 8.

From 7 pro or lower, new dongle is needed.

From 8 pro to 11, upgrade code needed, registered user’s Codemeter dongle will be update in the upgrade registration process.

Upgrades classic:

From 7 or lower, Full version code is needed with serial number

From 8 to 11, upgrade code needed.

Codemeter dongle: The usb dongle is used for copy protection. It’s the key to the program, so it needs to be plugged in, in order for Samplitude to open. So Samplitude does not hold a serial code, meaning you can install it on any computer you want. But to open it you need to plug in the Codemeter dongle, which holds the license, into the computer you want to open Samplitude on.
